We started off Boat Safety week with a team of qualified squadron inspectors who stationed themselves at the docks of
Oak Harbor in Juno Beach.  Lt/t Gary Ferguson organized the team of inspectors and contacted the Florida Sheriff's
Marine Division and requested a a boat to be stationed off the docks for water borne checks of passing boats
for current inspection documents while the squadron members conducted dockside vessel inspections.

Palm Beach County's Sheriff assigned a patrol boat and officer to conduct Boat Safety Inspections on the water at the request of
our squadron while our members conducted inspections dockside
                                   
On Oak Harbor docks, Ch 5 TV cameraman Lane Walker photographs the Sheriffs boat on Safety Patrol for their TV segment
 
                                                                      
Sheriff Deputy, on marine patrol, stops a passing boatman and conduct a safety inspection.  He had all the required safety equipment and
necessary documents and current decal and was back on his way to the fishing grounds.

Among the equipment Inspector Patti checks is the flare gun and date on the flare cartridges.
  ~ ~  It turned out to be a successful squadron endeavor endeavor and we and some boaters are better for it.  ~ ~

After the morning Safety Inspections the members gathered at Perry Como's Pavilion at Ocean Cay Park in Juno Beach
for our Annual Safe Boating Week Picnic.  The "Dogs" and "Burgers" were cooked to perfection and all the fixins
made for an enjoyable day and even the weather cooperated with pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunshine.
Compliments to Cdr Lesly McWhorter and wife Lt Donna for a great picnic.

the Squadron's qualified Vessel Examiners place a Seal-of-Safety on your boat.  This is a free inspection of your boat's equipment
